Step into Austin’s vibrant cultural landscape at the annual Las Piñatas exhibition, on display now at Pan American Park, 2100 East 3rd Street, 78702. This showcase is a beacon of creativity that invites the community to engage with piñata-inspired artworks. Since its inception in 2015, the exhibition has grown into a pivotal feature of the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center’s (MACC) Dia de los Muertos Festival, celebrating the resilience and creativity of Austin’s Latino community and East Side residents. This year’s installations are:

  • Gensler: “Austin Alebrijes Parade”
  • Agustin Lopez Garcia & Emanuel Dias Suarez: “Beneath the Surface: The Art of the Piñata”
  • HADDON+COWAN Architects: “Torres Pequeñas”
  • Miren Urena, Assoc. AIA: “Los Alebrijes”

This initiative is driven by AIA Austin’s Latinos in Architecture (LiA) Committee.
